Story - The Race When the Prophet (pbuh) was only twenty five years old, he married the lady Khadija. Khadija was a widow and she was impressed by Muhammad (pbuh) who was a very honest and gentle person. They had a loving relationship and they looked after each other and their small family. After Muhammad (pbuh) was 40 years old, the angel Jibrael came to him and delivered the first five verses of the Holy Qu'ran. Muhammad (pbuh) had been given prophethood and was given the responsibility to deliver the message of Allah to the whole world. The Makkans were not happy and would make life difficult for the Muslims. Through these periods of hardship, Khadija supported the Prophet (pbuh) and indeed became a very pious and devoted Muslim. Despite all the difficulties they continued to live their lives as good Muslims. After many years of hardship, Khadija passed away and Muhammad (pbuh) was very sad. He later married Aisha (ra) who was younger than the Prophet and was very intelligent. She was also the daughter of another great Sahabi, Abu Bakr. One day our Prophet (pbuh) and Aisha (ra) were walking and they decided to have a race. They agreed to run to a certain place and soon began the race. Aisha (ra) was fit and ran very quickly winning the race. A few years later, the Prophet (pbuh) and Aisha (ra) decided to have another race and again they decided to run to a certain spot. This time Aisha was not as quick and our Prophet (pbuh) won the race. All the Muslims used to look after their bodies because they knew it was a trust from Allah. Even the Prophet (pbuh) and Aisha would race with each other whilst these days people are reluctant to even go to the shops walking.
